Challenges in the building services sector

Sound familiar? You are in a situation where you have a real emergency and need professional help, you have tried to call and order a plumber, electrician, locksmith, vacuum truck, refrigerator installer, glass repairer, automation installer or someone else and no one has answered.

This is surprisingly common. One explanation is that many of the companies in the building services sector, especially the daytime companies, are small firms with only a few employees. They may not have dedicated customer service staff to ensure that every customer contact is answered and answered quickly. Installers do their job, i.e. customer service and installation work, professionally on the sites where they are located. However, they may have several sites in the same day and have to eat in between, so they may simply not have time to respond to new customer contacts, even if they wanted to.

The building services industry is very fragmented: there are big companies, small companies, new players and established players, so there is room for a wide range of quality and prices. We are sad to say that there are also contractors in the sector who are unable, for example, to agree with the customer on a precise starting time for the work, to plan the scheduling of their own work, or to provide any other kind of customer service. They may promise something, but then unfortunately, for one reason or another, it does not come true. Such cases are not a credit to the building services industry.

These various problems generally affect consumer customers in particular, who are less likely to need to order any technical building services. They are not aware of the qualified professionals in the area where they live and are therefore more likely to encounter such situations than building service professionals who know the local installers and are used to working with building services professionals on a daily basis. Maintenance companies often have cooperation agreements with local installers and other partners in reserve who can be contacted in case of need, but even property managers sometimes find themselves in a situation where they cannot get the service they need on the spot immediately, and so a large proportion of our customers who live in apartment blocks can identify with the situation where the maintenance company orders a professional who may never turn up, even if it is an urgent job.

At 24 Center, together with our partners, we want to help develop and improve the sector in a more customer-oriented direction. We offer our partners outsourced customer service, so they can focus on serving the customer by doing the installation work. 24 Center provides those in need of building services assistance with punctual customer service, and with the help of our extensive network of partners, we can guarantee a professional will arrive on site quickly, every time. Whatever your building services need, a call to 24 Center is the key to solving the problem. Our promise is that a professional will arrive regardless of the time of day, season, weather, job or location.
