Happy Independence Day and good luck to Finland!
Independence means that Finland has the right to make its own choices as a nation. We have the opportunity to choose our own direction and live as a free people. Independent Finland has chosen openness and internationalism as its path. Isolation and closure are threats to independence. We can only prosper and flourish as part of a community of other democratic and free countries.
Finland has risen from a poor country to one of the most prosperous and prosperous countries in the world. Today's prosperity has been built through the hard work, struggle and Finnish spirit of previous generations. Finland is at least the freest country in the world, the safest country, we have the best administration, the most independent judiciary, one of the greatest freedoms of the press. We have the least corruption and, according to measurements, we are healthy, happy, content and trust each other. We breathe the cleanest air in the world and drink fresh water. Thanks to the rights of every man, all Finns can roam freely in the forest and enjoy the bounty of nature. This is exceptional and unique. It is an important task for all of us to ensure that Finland's future centuries will also be successful and to guarantee prosperity for future generations.
Finland has had a great and successful few years. There have been difficult times in history, but they have been overcome through hard work, struggle, grit and perseverance. Immediately after Finland gained independence, a decision was taken to try to educate the whole population as widely as possible. It was felt that since Finland had no capital other than people, it wanted to invest in everyone's education and skills. We can be proud of this decision and of the success of education. In terms of skills, Finns now also have a good chance of succeeding in a rapidly digitalising world. Internationalisation, globalisation and digitalisation are changing the world at a rapid pace. Finland, which used to be so peripheral, is no longer so much on the sidelines. We at 24 Center also want to be part of this development and play our part in ensuring Finland's future success in digital services.
We have great respect for the independence that has been preserved through the hard struggles and sacrifices of past generations. In the words of Adolf Ehrnrooth: "Finland is a good country. This country is the best place for us Finns. Finland is a country worth defending."
In memory of the veterans of our wars - Happy Independence Day !
